Narrative

When we walked in, the owner couldn't tell which jobs were profitable. Time was tracked on paper. The bookkeeper's chart of accounts wasn't structured for job-level reporting, so the P&L showed company-wide profit without revealing which crews and which jobs were dragging it down.

We replaced paper time cards with an automated intake that fed straight into payroll and the job-cost system. Restructured the chart of accounts so every job had its own profit picture. Wired a live dashboard that surfaced gross margin per job within 48 hours of close. Then installed a monthly close playbook so the bookkeeper could run it cleanly without us.

Within six months, the owner was killing unprofitable bid types and pricing the rest with confidence. Annual profit was up $340K. Another $210K freed up in working capital because they stopped over-buying materials for jobs that didn't need them.
